hawkeye s1: This story was just a story to go to another story? I HATE Yahoo news, they are NOT in the business of providing News and helping people. They are in the business to show Ads, pretending to be a viable news source while and wasting my time. Why do I have to read about a rich person and how they are so wonderful at tough, just show me what I can do to help survive. Lead in's like this make me think this is not for real, but just another rabbit trail Yahoo does to people. I so wish Yahoo actually cared instead of pretend caring.
Travis: My wife and I are doing great relationship wise during this. We try to treat it like any other day. We are both working from home so she has her “office space” and I have mine. The kids each have their “office space” too. We set up a schedule (it probably helps we are both type A) for office time and lunch, etc. She works out in the garage in the mornings and I workout in the afternoon. Each of us (kids included) have a night we prepare dinner. We chill and watch tv or play board/video games in the evening or go for a family walk. Luckily we have a really nice porch and yard to get outside. I think what’s also helped us is that we didn’t spend a lot of time with friends over or going out every weekend before so this isn’t a huge change. Add in our kids are 12 & 17 and like to spend their down time on their phones. I also think the working out every day is helpful too.
History Guy: Agree. From a species survival standpoint, specifically humans, relatively long gestational periods PLUS long infancy periods (the latter, the period when offspring are unable to fend for themselves), it makes sense that women would not only need to have a more robust Immune response but also as the article pointed out, having bodies that are better at dealing with other extremes (lack of food, water, temperature etc.) than males. In the reproductive process, males are literally a dime-a-dozen--with healthy females being precious to this process indeed. This is bolstered by what we have known for years--that male offspring have higher levels of virtually all types of congenital abnormalities, and combined with other factors (genetics etc.) higher levels of infant mortality than female newborns/infants.
12 DumThumbs By 1 Petty DemonRat: For years, Bill Gates has been at the forefront of research regarding global pandemics and mass vaccination campaigns. In the past decade, Gates went on record several times stating that the world was not ready for a global pandemic. In October 2019 (only a few months before the apparition of COVID-19) the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (in cooperation with the World Economic Forum) hosted Event 201, a 3.5-hour table-top simulation of a global pandemic.Oddly enough, this simulation was about a novel coronavirus that would kill millions. About eight weeks later, an actual novel coronavirus spurred in China. This lead to some people wondering if this exercise actually predicted the spread of COVID-19. In response to these questions, a statement was posted on the Event 201 website. On March 13th, about a day after COVID-19 began shutting down the entire Western world, Bill Gates stepped down from the public board of Microsoft to “dedicate more time to philanthropic priorities including global health and development, education, and climate change”. As the pandemic spread across the world, Gates became an outspoken and authoritative figure on the pandemic crisis, appearing all over mass media to share his views and recommendations.Bill Gates’ answer: The question of which businesses should keep going is tricky. Certainly food supply and the health system. We still need water, electricity and the internet. Supply chains for critical things need to be maintained. Countries are still figuring out what to keep running. Eventually we will have some digital certificates to show who has recovered or been tested recently or when we have a vaccine who has received it.This concept of a “digital certificate” to store medical information (including vaccines received) and to grant access to rights or services was not a mere suggestion. It is part of a massive project that is propelled by a powerful group called ID2020 which is backed by the United Nations, the Rockefeller Foundation and … Bill Gates’ Microsoft.
